Evening Child Care

Evening Child Care

WSU Children’s Center provides evening child care for children of any enrolled WSU student, staff or faculty. We are open Monday through Thursday from 5:30 to 9:30 pm for children ages 4 weeks to 12 years. The cost is $8 per evening (for 4 hours) for children of students and $6.50 per hour for children of staff or faculty.

No registration fee is required, but parents must complete registration information before a child can be admitted for evening care. Parents are asked to notify the center no later than 2:00pm day they would like evening care.   Please note:  if you sign your child up for evening care, you do need to call before 2:00pm of the day of care in order to cancel.  If you call after 2:00pm or do not call to cancel, you will still be charged for the evening.

A variety of developmentally appropriate activities are offered for children during the evening hours. We provide dinner and evening snacks. Parents of children who attend the children’s center day time program may request to have their child transferred to the evening program at 5:30. Quiet time is observed after 9:00 pm.

Children do NOT have to be enrolled in the day time program in order to attend the evening program. There are some grant funds available for free evening care (twice a week) for students who are receiving Pell Grants or who are Pell Grant eligible. Contact Aaron Stallcop at the Children's Center for more information and/or an application.

There are also funds available for evening care for children of graduate students.  Contact the GPSA department for more information.  Their website is http://www.gpsa.wsu.edu/services_childcare.aspx
